Frequently asked questions

What font do memes use?

The classic meme font is Impact in white with a black outline. The generator uses Impact where it's installed and a matching bold font elsewhere.

Can I use my own picture?

Yes. Drop any photo or screenshot in JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF format and add your captions on top.

Is there a watermark on my meme?

No. Nothing is added beyond your text.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Meme Generator runs entirely in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or seen by anyone else.

Is Meme Generator free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up and no watermarks.
