How do I make a quiet recording louder?

Will boosting cause distortion?

The peak limiter stops the waveform from clipping. Very large boosts can still sound squashed, so preview before you download.

Boost or normalize?

Normalize raises the loudest peak to the target — safe and predictable. Boost pushes further and relies on the limiter.
